SubscribeThe school is beginning to plan grade structures and staffing for 2023. It is important that the school can make an accurate estimate of student numbers as the school’s funding is based on student enrolments.
If you have not enrolled your child for Prep in 2023, please pick up an enrolment pack from the campus offices or go onto the school’s website to complete this. All students enrolled for Prep 2023 at Epping Primary School will be invited to take part in a pre-Prep learning program during Term 4. If you require any further information about school programs or enrolling your child, please contact the school to book a tour or to ask any questions.
If your family is making a change in 2023 and your child/children will not be attending Epping Primary School in 2023, can you please let the campus offices know as soon as possible.
Parents will be provided with an opportunity to write and let me know of considerations when placing their child/children in 2023 classes via an invitation in the Newsletter, early Term 4.
Phillip Island Camp
The Phillip Island Adventure Resort Camp planning is in its final stages. A range of forms and payment requests have been sent out both on Compass and with your child so please check for these and return them to school as soon as possible.
Department COVIDSafe measures will be put into place to reduce the chances of transmission which will include:
· Students completing a RAT the morning of camp and can only attend if they receive a negative result.
· Students required to wear a mask whilst travelling on the bus.
· Daily symptom checks occurring for all students and staff.
· If students have symptoms on camp, staff will support them to complete a RAT.
· If a student tests positive, they will be isolated, and parents called to collect them from the camp at Phillip Island.
· Students will operate mainly in their cabin ‘bubble’ to complete activities where practicable.
· Students who were in a 'bubble' with a student that tests positive will be classed as a close contact (household-like) and will be tested as soon as possible.
· If close contacts are negative, they can remain at camp but must take a daily RAT and wear a mask whilst indoors.
Attendance
It is great to see so many students and parents making a BIG effort to get to school on time. Your child should be at school at 8.50 am so they can put their bag and belongings away and be ready for learning at 9.00am sharp! A reminder that school gates open at 8.20am.
I am concerned with parents dropping off their child after 9.15 and then just driving away. If you and your child/children are late, parents are required to walk their child/children in and provide a reason for the late arrival to office staff. If parents do not do this, you will receive a call as soon as your child comes inside, to come back to the school and explain the late arrival. Schools must include parent reasons for lateness and absences on Department management systems.
COVID Update
School Council Sub-committees are an easy and meaningful way to contribute to school programs. The Sub-committees for 2022 include:
· Fundraising Committee – making recommendations for fundraising ideas and organising and running fundraising activities.
· Education Committee – review program plans and school policies to ensure best practice at Epping Primary School.
· Finance Committee – oversee and review school program budgets and expenditure and make recommendations to School Council.
You do not have to have any prior experience or knowledge to participate in our committees – just passion and motivation to make a difference. If you would like more information about a committee or wish to join a committee, please contact the school.

What an amazing 100 Days of School celebration!
It was fantastic to see everyone in their 100 year old outfits. We had quite a few grey hairs, wrinkles and walking sticks!
We had so much fun reading stories and doing rotation activities – we made a crown, a necklace out of 100 cheerios, 100 days smarter glasses and rearranged the number 100 on our page. We were so excited to eat hot chips, lollies and popcorn!
At the end of the day, we were able to sit with our Buddies and receive a special certificate to celebrate rocking our 100th day.
